While doing research for this website, I discovered that there is a useful relationship between a body’s weight and the volume of its cremains. That relationship is: one pound of weight equals one cubic inch of cremains. For example, a 97 pound body would need a wooden cremation urn with a minimum internal volume of 97 cubic inches. A 230 pound body would need a wooden cremation urn with a minimum internal volume of 230 cubic inches.
Select the weight from the pull down menu below and automatically all of our wooden cremation urn options for the body’s weight are displayed. Examine all of the options and select the configuration most applicable to your needs. Then select the wood you would like and enter your selection in the shopping cart. Remember that it is better for the wooden cremation urn to be too large than too small.
It is not uncommon for cremains to be divided and presented to multiple survivors. In this case, divide the body’s weight by the number of recipients and choose a wooden cremation urn which closely matches the fractional amount. For example, a 220 pound body weight to be divided equally among 4 survivors would need a wooden cremation urn with a minimum internal volume of 55 cubic inches. Select 55 in the pull down menu and choose the wooden cremation urn configuration which is most applicable to your needs. Then select the wood you would like the urns to be made from and enter the correct quantity into the shopping cart. If each survivor desires a different kind of wood, multiple orders will have to be placed.
